This week Mario Testino and Sienna Miller take us back to 2008 to Italian sceneries, filled with warmth and this unique sort of glamorous laziness…
The shoot became “famous” for one other reason than being featured in a major fashion magazine. Have you seen the September Issue? A movie that was supposably Anna Wintour’s response to Devil Wears Prada and shows the process of creating the most important of them all – The September Issue of Vogue. And since Sienna Miller was chosen as a cover girl for that particular issue, the shoot served as a very important part of the film – especially when it came to choosing a picture for the front page.
The shoot itself is divided in two parts: one gives us the impression of a cool Hollywood star trying to ditch paparazzi when off duty, or being accidentally photographed after the party. The other one is more of a simple editorial when no story is being told and Miller is just presenting her stylizations. Every picture here is beautiful, but to be completely honest – I wish they’ve gone just one way instead of making the shoot uneven. But who am I to disagree with Mario Testino himself? Go ahead and enjoy the view.
