Being released next month as part of the World Documentary Competition, at Tribeca Film Festival, Dior have put together a one and only documentary based around the creations and progression of one of Raf Simmons first collections for the label.
The documentary is filmed by Frédéric Tcheng, where he exposes the life of Raf, and his skilled workers and his debut to the brand. The main focus of the documentary is based around atelier’s seamstresses, bringing the collection to life.
Tcheng has had much experience when creating breath-taking documentaries around the fashion industry, such as Valentino: The Last Emperor’ & ‘Diana Vreeland: The Eye has to Travel.’
The film was filmed over a 8-week period, and will feature all the behind the curtains scenes, giving the viewer the true exclusive experience. This isn’t something that we haven’t seen before, such as other designers Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino and Carine Roitfeld who have also gone ahead in exposing the brands hidden process in the past through documentary.
The film will be premiered on the17th April.
