A Quick Introduction To London’s Hottest Fashion Event

With the SS20 New York Fashion Week wrapping up, it’s finally time for the stylish mayhem to hit the streets of London, but this year the routine is a little different to what we’re usually used to. Certain shows including Self Portrait, House of Holland and Alexa Chung have been made available to the public – at a price of course. But it’s not just the shows you’ll be paying for, as you’ll also get exclusive access to see some very notable speakers, which include the fabulous Billy Porter and House of Holland’s Henry Holland. If you’ve got £100+ to spare, perhaps this little fashion experience will be worth your while – but we’re not here to #ad!

What’s also different about LFW is that a brand-new category has been set up, which is called Positive Fashion, encompassing three core principles: Sustainability, Equality & Diversity and Craftsmanship & Community. Whilst anti-fashion environmentalists may still be looming outside the BFC Show Space, some activists might be happy to hear that the fashion industry is making some drastic movements to be more sustainable and inclusive, which this coming week is hoping to shed light on. We’re already expecting many immensely talented, up-and-coming designers to showcase their Positive Fashion work in some innovative and fashion-forward ways we’d kick ourselves if we missed. There are also tickets for these shows available to the public to snap up online.

But, of course, we are eagerly waiting to welcome back some more familiar names to London Fashion Week, as the likes of Burberry, Richard Quinn, Christopher Kane and always-fashionably-late Pam Hogg are set to take on the catwalks. We’re also looking forward to seeing those clashing patterns from Instagram-favourite RIXO and some more iconic puffy princess dresses from Molly Goddard. And these are just some of the hottest names in British design that are predicted to steal our hearts this incoming week, as our expectations are set at a record high.

Just like the mini heatwave that’s entering our city, London’s SS20 collections are about to hit your fashion feeds hot and heavy. As it all kicks off in the big smoke, keep a close eye for some exclusive content right here as we follow some of LFW’s most brilliant shows…
