Our Highlights from the BFI London Film Festival 2022

The much anticipated 66th BFI London Film Festival came to a close on Sunday, with chilling Austrian-based drama ‘Corsage’ landing the award for Best Film. The festival’s awards was a heavily star-studded event, attended by the likes of Janelle Monae in a stunning Christian Siriano Gown, Jessica Chastain in Gucci, and Cate Blanchett in a breathtaking Alexander McQueen suit. Let’s take a look at our highlights of the glorious fashion that never fails to disappoint on the BFI London Film Festival red carpet… 

Taylor Russell

Star of Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Bones And All’, alongside Timothee Chalamet, Taylor Russell graced the red carpet in a satin corseted matador-inspired set with a draped skirt by Schiaparelli. The pièce de résistance came from an elegant wide-brimmed black boater hat that effortlessly tied the look together with an unmatched beauty.

Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae stepped out onto the red carpet in a rich red Christian Siriano gown with a sheer mesh long sleeved top, worn with a red bandeau underneath, and a hugely ruffled and gathered skirt layered with a draping floor length mesh skirt underneath. The actress paired this iconic piece with a beautifully striking red head piece and statement gold earrings that tumbled to her shoulders.

Cate Blanchett

For the premiere of Pinocchio, directed by Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Gustafson, Cate Blanchett wore an impressive clean cut white suit by Alexander McQueen, embossed with a fascinating print of an enlarged eye across the suit – this unique piece quite literally drew the eye, with Blanchett delivering jaw-dropping fashion pieces as always.

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh wore a darling haute couture peach feathered gown by Valentino with a sweetheart neckline and sweeping tulle skirt. She paired this with long, dangling earrings to complete the look.

Timothee Chalamet

Timothée Chalamet stepped out on the red carpet premiere of “Bones And All” alongside co-stars, including Taylor Russell, in a dapper white Alexander McQueen suit paired with a bone choker encrusted in crystals from the Vivienne Westwood SS23, in a subtle nod to the movie.

Jessica Chastain

Chastain’s look was one of simple, classical elegance; the floor length orange Gucci gown featured a deep V cut in the neckline and a symmetrical V cut slit up the centre of the gown from the hem to create a classy triangular silhouette in the piece.
