Debauched Debutante.
‘’A young fashionable woman, living a life involving immoral behaviour. Someone who is debauched is considered to be immoral, because their way of life,’’
And in House of Holland’s AW14 Collection it seems as if the muse in Henry Holland’s mind, may be a ‘debauched woman,’ but she absolutely loves every single minute of it and is revelling in her chic rebellion.
Former Graphic designer Henry Holland has never been shy with his display of graphic prints and loud suggestive clothing and his AW14 collection is a testament to this. It is almost a mish-mash of everything he has previously created but with a more mature and refined approach to the garment cut and construction which really shows his growth as fashion designer and has made for a very diverse show, and range of looks in the collection that undoubtable has something in it that every girl/woman can wear.
Diamonds used to be a girl’s best friend but House of Holland has now declared that pearls and brightly coloured pompoms are and AW14 must have adornment. Although we’ve seen the pompoms of house of Holland before, when it’s paired with neon fur pieces and metallic leather it gives House of Holland’s usually fun and outlandish design aesthetic, a really cool 90’s clueless feel with a mature socialite edge.
The mix of colours, texture, prints, and fabrics could be a totally devastating combination, but Henry Holland manages to pull everything together and make it work because this is what he does best and it has truly made for a stunning, exciting, fun, youthful array of eye catching garment designs that will look great with a millions other items dressed up or dressed down.
There is so many looks in this collection, from cut off metallic pants, to sweeping sophisticated dresses, an outrageously beautiful orange fur accent coat, a stunningly cut emerald jacket and pant combo, a number of cool quilted jackets and a lot of randomly excellent House of Holland.
A truly manic but amazing collection that is bound to be extremely successful, proving that once again House of Holland has lived up to its crazy expectations and delivered an epically wonderful AW14 collection.
