Paris Fashion Week SS23 has come to a close after its 10 day grand extravaganza. The runways brought spectacular sights and memorable moments, from the Yves Saint Laurent evening show in front of the Eiffel Tower to the Coperni spray-on dress modelled by Bella Hadid that will remain an iconic part of fashion history. Moving away from the haute couture of the runways, we take a look at our favourite fashion in the audiences and along the streets of Paris – one cannot deny the utter class and elegance of looks adorned by attendants of the city’s fashion week.

Trench coats

This classic staple appeared to be a very popular item for attendees across Paris Fashion Week. The trench coat undeniably pairs well with most looks – good length gives off The Matrix vibes, but not as intense. Two individuals pictured here stood out with their long black leather trench coats, emanating a relaxed, nonchalant energy in between shows. One pairs this with a black blazer and trousers, whilst the other pairs with brown culottes layered with a pleated skirt – the dark clothing underneath the trench coat gives us the sultriness we never knew we needed.

Double denim

Baggy denim is the way to go this street fashion season. But what’s even better than this? Double denim, of course. Oversized fits with rolled up sleeves and hems create the perfect rebel against the traditional silhouette. Deliver a touch of class to this by adding an elegant clutch purse, a baker boy hat, or heeled boots to complete the look.

All black attire

Black is known to be the most flattering colour of them all (yes, we count it as a colour), and goes with essentially everything. But nothing says sexy like an all black outfit. Pictured below left, the wearer has layered a beautifully delicate spotted black mesh dress cinched in at the waist over simple yet elegant black lingerie. Draped over her shoulders is a long black leather trench coat (do you see the trend?), complemented with a small slouchy black leather bag. Pictured below right, the wearer has thrown a black wool turtle neck over a cut-out mesh skirt with flares paired with chunky black Doc Martens. As demonstrated perfectly here, gold jewellery is the ideal complementary accessory to all black attire.

Statement sunglasses

Attendees of Paris Fashion Week brought out statement sunglasses that, well, made a statement. With oversized rims and chunky temples resting on the ear, some wearers paired this funky look with thick, cosy knit and oversized purses, as pictured below. This is a look we’ll certainly be trying out this season.
