#FRESHMESS Designer Negarin Interview

 I had the fortunate luck to get an interview with trained artist and sculptor turned designer Negarin.

Her sculpted yet laid back designs have captured the modern fresh london woman that has the hectic city lifestyle. And needs clothing that is built to last! Here is our interview with her;

In your bio is says your a trained artist and sculptor, why did you decide to change to fashion design? and why?

After a career as an artist and sculptor I wanted to channel my creativity into fashion. I joined Donna Karan and it was there that my unique style started to emerge as I carved out a new fashion direction where garments became practical, visual art.

I went on to work with some of the most respected high end and high street fashion houses in Italy. As a busy woman myself I am in need of a hard-working wardrobe, and felt compelled to create the ultimate problem-solving womenswear wardrobe. It was therefore a natural step for me to launch my own label in 2011.

Who or what are you inspirations?

I’m inspired by innovation and by art, photos, details, architecture, a flower. Pretty much anything and everything. Usually colour is what grabs my attention most of the time.

Can you describe who you design for?

I design for the modern, globally inspired woman. A woman who appreciates impeccable craftsmanship and quality and is seeking intellectual, wearable yet whimsical designs.

Greta Garbo, why did you choose her as your latest collection inspiration?

Greta Garbo is an icon. She is elegant and enigmatic and my collection embodies Garbo’s coquettish and sophisticated style. I wanted to channel Garbo’s confidence and playfulness by using large prints, bold colours and asymmetrical shapes.  This collection revolutionizes Garbo’s love of masculine trousers, an offers easy-chic take on vintage style, reflecting Garbo’s emphasis on comfort.
