ATELIER MICHALSKY: Less mass more style Ruth Fianu October 24, 2016 MESSFashion ATELIER MICHALSKY Atelier Michalsky unveils their SS17 collection in an exclusive collaboration with MESS Magazine. Sustainability, luxury, and fashion. Atelier Michalsky is altering our view of the future through their newest collection Perspective. Posing a challenge to the ever growing prevalence of fast fashion Atelier Michalsky puts a focus on detailed craftsmanship, which is high quality and modern. The collection’s color palette ranges from metallic copper, bronze, and patina silver accents with mixes of hay green and luscious black tones. The perfect transition from white to sand to nude creates a contrast that only heightens the metallic and darker tones. The designs are nuanced, paired with unique fabric mixes such as handcrafted, metallic embroidered lace, silks, and reflecting yarn that is woven into customary couture fabrics. The fabrics are from all over Europe and promise to be of the highest quality. The pieces are shaped like artistic masterpieces with modern techniques of cut outs that hint at a new fashion perspective being put forward by Atelier Michalsky. The SS17 collection shows attention to form fitting silhouette whilst maintaining it’s architectural like proportions and cut outs. The brand has merged the old with the new with this year’s Women’s’ couture designs. The collection arose in tandem with the traditional shoe manufacturer company Kennel & Schmenger, taking some of their signature references to fit into the collection. The men’s collection plays with the modern, sleek sneaker to balance and contrast the luxurious fabrics in the collection, creating a fascinating interaction of points of view. Domi Perek, the CEO and Editor and Chief of Mess Magazine, collaborated with this brand to create looks that speak to the future and the past all at once, creating an entirely new PERSPECTIVE.
