It is clear that the fashion world is reminiscing as 2014 has so far shown us the 90s are back. This season it is all about mesh and it seems to be unstoppable. From baggy sweatshirts to tight bodycon, everyone is playing peek-a-boo with 2014’s hottest trend; Mesh pieces are easy to wear and style due to the versatility, yet be very aware- in this case, layering is key.
As seen at Fashion Week 2014, the style was decidedly sport-luxe, encompassing two huge trends. The mesh trend can be worn subtly with sporty hints, seen at Akris and Charlotte Ronson, or worn as a statement piece a la Celine.
This trend is easy to tailor to any style, for example, teaming a sporty mesh shirt with silk shorts and ultra feminine stilettos creates a sporty chic look or perhaps a bomber and shades for a more edgy look. If anyone is really confident, baring all under a mesh dress or playsuit (think Rihanna in her white playsuit), add a pair of super chunky shoes such as creepers or cut-out boots and shades to make a real statement. Take note.
