My name is Lolita Masagutova, but when I was choosing the name for my blog I knew that some people may find my surname hard to remember or to pronounce, so I decided cut it down to simply ‘Mas’. I’m originally from Latvia, and my first language is Russian. After I graduated from school in 2011 I moved to Manchester in the UK, to pursue my studies and further my career. Currently, I’m a final year Advertising & Brand Management student at Manchester Metropolitan University, as well as a full-time personal stylist at the London-based start-up company called ASAP54.
Blogging was always something I wanted to do, but I never knew when or where to start. My colleagues at ASAP54 were telling me to start my own blog almost every time I walked into the office. After I came back from one of my business trips, I sat down with a piece of paper and put everything I had in my mind together, drawing out how I wanted my blog to look and writing couple of posts. However, I don’t consider it to be finished just yet. I still have so many ideas to put into action, and I feel that there is room for improvement, which will be made after I finally graduate and have so much more time that I can spend on my blog, its content and its design.
‘Lolita Mas’ is only couple of months old, but I already have 4,000 unique visitors on my blog monthly, and couple of interesting collaborations with UK-based brands; such as TFNC London and Lavish Alice. I’m getting all sorts of collaboration offers, almost every day, but I only agree to work with with the brands that fit with my personal style and views.
